This week marked the end of an era for our current Year 12 students as they completed their Secondary School journey and step out into the big wide world.
On Thursday, their Activity Day started early, ready for staff to arrive at school, only to find their car parking bays had been taken up by student cars! Teachers and staff were forced to park elsewhere around the grounds, and even on the roadside, an area usually set aside for students. Ms Rodrigues' car park was prime real estate and was taken up by a very brave person in a pink 4WD! Then to top it all off, she walked into her office which had been filled with purple and white balloons, colours of the Dockers (not good for a mad Eagles supporter!!). Needless to say, the balloons didn't stay in the office for long!
Students dressed up and enjoyed a day of team activities, water balloon fun, inflatable water slides and obstacle courses, and were spoilt with lunch from KFC and Subway! An amazing day was had by all students and staff, and our School siren even got changed to the laugh of our famous Aladdin Genie, Callum McCall!
Friday saw the School community farewell our Year 12's with a procession across the oval, lined by the whole school. Parents were at the end of the procession line armed with cameras to snap proud photos of their child at this momentous occasion. Once in assembly, the graduation certificates and sashes were blessed by Reverend David Bradbury, then presented to each graduating student of 2021. We were treated to musical performances by senior students, speeches from the outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl, and a motivational speech from Head of Secondary, Mr Korkosz. Following the assembly, our students and their families enjoyed some great photo opportunities as well as morning tea. Then the real celebrations start tonight with Valedictory Dinner at the Pagoda Spa and Resort.
We wish all of our graduands the best of luck in their future endeavours and say a huge congratulations to the Class of 2021!!
We hope you enjoy some of the photos from both days to celebrate the amazing achievement of our students.
