This morning Year 9 students and their parents, grandparents or significant adult gathered at the school at dawn to mark the commencement of their journey as a part of a programme called The Rite Journey. TRJ is a year-long programme aimed at helping our young boys and girls navigate their way from childhood to you ng adult.
This mornings’ Departure ceremony commenced with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Noongah elder Barry Winmar. Students then ‘let go’ of something from their past with their adult before everyone enjoyed a breakfast provided and served by our hospitality students and Year 12 Prefects.
