With the coveted House points up for grabs, our Secondary School students turned up the competition on the last day of term trying to earn all the points they could so their House could take home the trophy.
The day kicked off early with everyone getting straight into the games and activities. Students competed in events such as long jump, discus, shot-put, high jump, 400m races and more, all while having a wonderful time with their peers. There was plenty of fancy dress amongst competitors who wore their House colours with pride. After lunch, the business end of the day kicked into action with the running of the 100m sprints followed by the relay races. The competition on the track was fierce and with some close calls in the relays, Mr Freel was sure his beloved Yarrabah were stripped of the win on 1 occasion. However, Yarrabah held strong to take out the races 3 to 1 against Whitby.
The winning House for the day is to be announced at assembly in Term 3 and the cheers are sure to raise the roof after the suspense of waiting 3 weeks to find out!
